I am directed to acknowledge with thanks your letter of the 3rd inst., reporting particulars of the trial of the prisoners recently extradited from Hongkong and to request you to convey to Mr. Blythe the warm acknowledgment of His Excellency the Governor for his action in the matter.
His Excellency will be glad to know if the sentence has been carried into effect without confession having been previously obtained from the prisoners.
